Ideal Group participated in the MMSDC’s Michigan Minority Procurement Conference & Opportunity Fair (MMPC) May fifth to seventh. As the state’s largest business trade fair, it focuses on the capabilities of minority-owned businesses and the areas of need for some of the country’s top corporations. This two-day event is held annually in Detroit at the COBO Center, and features a trade show with over 400 booths, as well as a professional development program designed to provide businesses with best practices and insights for the upcoming business year.

Mikes Retirement

After years of working at Ideal Contracting and in the construction industry, Mike Faitel will no longer have to iron his plaid button-up and come in to work, but enjoy his retirement. Mike joined Ideal Contracting in April 2012, where he held the position of Project Manager and Estimator. Some of Mike’s responsibilities have included preparing detailed cost estimates, budgeting, developing and maintaining work schedules, and working with internal and customer teams. More…

Ideal Setech helps FCA Dundee Become the First U.S. Facility to Achieve Silver in World Class Manufacturing

Ideal Setech had the honor of being the only supplier asked to participate in FCA Dundee Engine Plant’s Silver World Class Manufacturing audit on May 13. Keith Barr and Karen Hanenkratt presented on the work Ideal Setech has done around the PM Pillar for the 7 Steps of Component Maintenance. Women Bettering Detroit

The Women Coming Together for Children luncheon, organized by Beyond Basics, recognized four women who have worked to better Detroit. Award recipients were Linzie Venegas-Rimanelli, community advocate; Maggie Allesee, local philanthropist; Heidi Brandewie, volunteer and tutor; and Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. The rain did not stop 60+ volunteers from participating in Cadillac Urban Gardens and Scarcyny Park’s annual Motor City Makeover. Sarah Clark from SDEV organized tasks for teams to complete throughout the morning. Teams targeted different areas in the community. A team, led by Richard Zarate, targeted street clean-up from Junction to McKinstry, filling up dumpsters that were donated by Magna and Dinverno. More…
