Setech Teams with GM to Give Back to the Forgotten Harvest Farm

30 Jun , 2017

Forgotten Harvest Farm, a farm located in Fenton, Michigan, grows over 850,000 pounds of food each year. The farm harvests and distributes the produce to food banks across Wayne, Macomb, and Oakland counties. And it does this while only employing a handful of people, as it relies almost entirely on the help of volunteers to help plant, grow, and harvest the food distributed throughout Southeast Michigan.

While volunteering at the farm, employees of GM (Paul Bitterman, Laurie Keskes & Kurt Mohrmann) and Ideal Setech (Tim Williams & Winston Pearce) worked together with other members of the local community to plant 13,000 pounds of cabbage. The teams went up and down rows of soil, dug out holes, planted the cabbage, and filled these holes with more soil.

These efforts provided an ample environment for the cabbage to grow, as the volunteer work will provide 13,000 meals to those in need, including local families.

Thoughtful acts of kindness and hard work, like this, is what the Ideal family is all about. We applaud Tim, Winston, the GM employees and all of the volunteers for giving back to such a great cause.
